(French Camp, CA) – Health Plan of San Joaquin (HPSJ) has announced its community partnership with the Modesto Nuts will kick off this Saturday, April 27, 2019, for the spring/summer MiLB 2019 baseball season to celebrate the Central Valley’s strong Latino roots with a season-long event series “Copa de la Diversión,” or “Fun Cup.” All games will be played at John Thurman Field, home to the minor league Modesto Nuts.

During their 5-game 2019 season series, the Modesto Nuts baseball team will transform into “Los Alebrijes” representing the colorful spirit and culture of our Latino community.
For the first in the series, Saturday, April 27, the focus will be Dia de los Niños – Day of the Children!

  • The first 1,000 fans through the gates will get an HPSJ drawstring backpack.
  • At the HPSJ game-day booth, fans can stop by to:
  • Get the latest on why regular check-ups and immunizations are so important for families
  • Spin the wheel for prizes
  • Check out a healthy, fun book from HPSJ’s Little Free Library

HPSJ CEO Amy Shin said, “The Modesto Nuts is a minor league baseball organization located in Modesto. They have a history of providing an inclusive, affordable option for entertainment at the ball park. They frequently seek opportunities to partner with community-based organizations who serve people of moderate to low income and HPSJ couldn’t be happier to partner with them!”
For the complete list of Copa de la Diversión dates and Modesto Nuts game-night themes, go to Health Plan of San Joaquin’s web site,
“Partnering with the Modesto Nuts through Copa de la Diversión is a great opportunity to reach out to Nuts fans about how HPSJ can help with their health and living their best lives. At the same time, we will join them to celebrate our rich Latino culture along with the diversity of our greater Modesto community. Copa events throughout the summer will bring inspiring, relatable messages they can use for better enjoying their healthiest lives – for kids and adults alike.” said Jen Medina, Director of Marketing for Health Plan of San Joaquin.
