Health Plan is providing an update on the Department of Healthcare Services (DHCS) Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) Workforce & Quality Incentive Program (WQIP), a directed payment program in the Medi-Cal Managed Care delivery system.
The DHCS has announced that the SNF WQIP ended effective December 31, 2025. As a result, SNF WQIP directed payments are no longer available for dates of service after December 31, 2025.
Providers should continue to submit claims in accordance with applicable billing requirements and contractual obligations. Any remaining SNF WQIP payments associated with eligible services provided on or before December 31, 2025, will be administered in accordance with DHCS program requirements and applicable payment timelines.

This notice is intended to inform providers of the conclusion of the SNF WQIP and the discontinuation of related incentive payments following the program’s sunset date.
