The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is providing additional policy clarifications for confidential and limited-scope Medi-Cal Minor Consent Services, which eligible minors may receive in accordance with the California Family Code, Sections 6920-6930.
You can find further detail in the new provider manual section Medi-Cal Minor Consent Services, formerly known as Minor Consent Program, located here: https://mcweb.apps.prd.cammis.medi-cal.ca.gov/assets/E6EF9FF8-1C71-4B2D-A677-A32F098CCF5C/medicaminor.pdf?access_token=6UyVkRRfByXTZEWIh8j8QaYylPyP5ULO
The policy clarifications do not change existing eligibility requirements, expand any existing or add new covered services, or otherwise impact existing billing policy (for example, do not add billing or diagnosis codes) for Medi-Cal Minor Consent Services. Providers should continue to submit claims for Medi-Cal Minor Consent Services with applicable billing and diagnosis codes as you have historically done.
