Health Plan of San Joaquin Stretches Members’ Flu Vaccine Access

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

(French Camp, CA) – Due to concerns about possible concurrent contracting of Covid-19 and influenza, Health Plan of San Joaquin (HPSJ) has expanded access for all of their members to receive the protections of this year’s flu shot.

Now, any HPSJ Member can get their flu shot from any HPSJ contracted provider.

  • For Members 19 years and older: providers will be reimbursed for both the vaccine and administration; members can get the flu vaccine at the doctor’s office or pharmacy.
  • For children under 19 years: providers  will be  reimbursed only for administration; the vaccine is provided via VFC (Vaccines for Children Program).

For HPSJ members not being seen by their assigned provider, this expanded access applies only to influenza vaccination and not to any additional services and benefits.

If Members have questions, they are invited to contact (Toll Free) the HPSJ Customer Service Department at 1-888-936-PLAN (7526), TTY/TDD 711, and in Spanish at 1-888-312-PLAN (7526), Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Flu Season

During the holiday season – HPSJ is continuing to promote safe behaviors. That includes celebrating with just those already in the household, and connecting virtually with others. HPSJ staff are all getting the word out: This is how we give the precious gift of holiday safety;  please continue to practice the (3) Ws:

  1. Wear a face cover whenever you are out
  2. Wash your hands, a lot
  3. Watch your distance, keep at least 6-feet apart from all you do not live with

… and Get a Flu Shot!
