AUDIENCE: MDs, PAs, FNPs, RNs, or others interested in primary medical care of transgender individuals
OBJECTIVES:
  1. Describe the difference between gender and sexual orientation, and be familiar with current and evolving gender terminology
  2. Identify three ways to make your health center a gender-affirming space
  3. Describe CDC’s two-step collection method for gender identity
  4. Name hormones used in transgender care for masculinizing or feminizing treatment
  5. Find on-line protocols for managing medical treatments of transgender patients and engage in continuing self-education in transgender care
  6. Realize lives are saved by providing hormonal support for transition
