Effective October 1,2026, any claims submitted by a non-contracted ground emergency medical transportation (GEMT) providers that are eligible for a GEMT supplemental payment – in accordance with Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) All Plan Letter (APL) 20-002 and California Assembly Bill (AB) 1705 will receive their GEMT supplemental payment as part of the standard fee-for-service (FFS) check-run.
Previously, eligible GEMT providers received their payments in a separate check for GEMT. Moving forward, all GEMT supplemental payments will be included in the overall claim payment to the provider, assuming all eligibility criteria for the GEMT supplemental payment are met.
