Dear Practitioners, Providers and Practice staff.
As always – The Health Reach 24-Hour Nurse Advice Line is free to HPSJ members and can be accessed 24/7.
Now – When your HPSJ patients call they also may be eligible to receive a consult with an MD when appropriate. We at HPSJ are really pleased that we can offer this enhanced service for your HPSJ patients.
With the Health Reach – 24-hour Nurse/Physician Advice Line, in addition to being able to speak with a registered nurse about any health problem, the nurse triages the member’s call, provides advice and when appropriate refers the member for a telephone consult with a physician.
- The physician can provide appropriate recommendations and prescriptions for simple conditions.
- This is an added service for the member, and they are able to get care in their home.
- If the HPSJ member needs a higher level of care and needs to be seen, the physician will advise them to seek that needed level of care.
- Conditions that physicians could diagnose and treat through a telephone consult may include: cold and flu, or rashes and infections such as sinusitis and conjunctivitis. They will provide prescriptions if needed.
- The primary care provider will receive a summary of the telephone consult with a physician.

Please encourage your HPSJ patients to call and use this triaged telephone health consult, when you are not available or in conjunction with your services. |
