SSD – Diabetes Screening for People with Schizophrenia or Bipolar Disorder
Who Are Using Antipsychotic Medications

This measure looks at members 18–64 years of age with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder or bipolar disorder, who were dispensed an antipsychotic medication and had a diabetes screening test during the measurement year. These members cannot already have an active diagnosis of diabetes during or prior to the measurement year.

Measure Definition: At least two different dates of service, where [1] both encounters have a diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, otherwise, both encounters have a diagnosis of bipolar disorder and [2] diabetic screening was completed during the year.

Note: Telephone visits, e-visits and virtual check-ins with the relevant diagnoses are included.
