The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is pleased to announce the launch of the California 988 Network website, a centralized resource designed to help Californians learn about the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The 988 Lifeline provides confidential and free crisis support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

This new website aims to increase statewide awareness of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and provides clear information about :

• How to contact 988.
• What to expect when connecting with a trained counselor.
• Resources tailored for diverse communities, including schools, Tribal communities, and multilingual users.

Visitors can also download free DHCS developed materials such as multilingual 988 posters, flyers, and other outreach tools to support community education and awareness efforts.

Helpful Tips

• Providers can promote the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by actively sharing these resources with members/patients, families, and community partners to strengthen awareness and access to crisis support.
• Include 988 and the local county behavioral health access line in treatment plans.
• Post 988 materials at front desk, waiting area, exam rooms, and bathrooms.
