The Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC), Office of Planning Licensing (OPL) issued an update to DMHC All Plan Letter (APL) 22-031, Newly Enacted Statues Impacting Health Plans 2022 Legislative Session on December 22, 2022. This APL outlined newly enacted statutory requirements for health care service plans regulated by DMHC and is a reminder on how you can apply the information to your practice or facility operations, where appropriate.

While several newly enacted statutory requirements have been outlined, the focus of this alert is specific to the update regarding SB 1207; requirement for Managed Care Plans (MCPs) to develop a Maternal Mental Health Program effective July 1, 2023.
