Community event, please post and encourage your patients to attend!
Health Plan of San Joaquin (HPSJ) is focused on working with local providers and community partners to improve health equity and raise awareness about Black maternal health. This includes connecting our members and the community to local resources who support early prenatal care and family wellness.
As part of our Black Maternal Health initiative, HPSJ is hosting a community baby shower on Saturday, October 7 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at San Joaquin Delta College’s Danner Hall. Women who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, and new parents in San Joaquin County are welcome to attend this baby-friendly event. Some of the resources available at the baby shower will be:
- Information about Medi-Cal benefits such as doula and mid-wife services
- Help with breastfeeding
- Learning more about what to expect as baby grows
- Find out how to get support with housing, food, and transportation
- Talk with people who can help with post-partum depression or feelings of
sadness
