AHIP Adds Four Health Insurance Providers to Its Membership
Combined, the four organizations serve more than 2 million health care consumers

WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 16, 2018 – Four more health insurance providers have become members of America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), joining us in our work to ensure that every American has affordable coverage choices that help them improve their health and financial security:

  • CalOptima is a public, community-based health plan that serves low-income residents in Orange County, CA. CalOptima has enrollees in four programs: Medicaid, Medicare-Medicaid Plan, Medicare Advantage Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan, and Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly.
  • CareOregon is a nonprofit insurance provider serving individuals from low-income households across the state of Oregon. It serves Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and CHIP enrollees.
  • Health Plan of San Joaquin is a public, not-for-profit, managed care insurance provider that serves Medi-Cal enrollees in California’s San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties.
  • Priority Health is a nonprofit insurance provider that serves Michigan consumers through employer provided coverage, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Medicaid, and individual plans.

“Each of these insurance providers is committed to fighting for lower prices for patients and consumers, and to helping people get healthier faster and stay healthier longer,” said Matt Eyles, president and CEO of AHIP. “We are excited to work with them to improve American health care, so that everyone has affordable coverage, access to high-quality care, and control over their health care choices.”
