In partnership with our local public health agencies, Health Plan launched a flu prevention campaign to protect families and communities during the 2025–2026 flu season. The prevention campaign aims to reach members in our service area including San Joaquin, Stanislaus, El Dorado, and Alpine.
In response to low flu vaccine rates among Health Plan’s youngest members and rising cases of RSV, acute respiratory visits, and hospital stays, this year’s campaign was developed as a collaborative effort with San Joaquin Public Health Services and Stanislaus Public Health Services. The campaign encourages conversations about flu vaccine safety in everyday settings such as doctor’s visits, schools, childcare, and community events and aims to help families understand that the flu shot is safe, effective, and accessible.
Launch date: September 15th (campaign will run through March 2026)
Key messages by population:
- Educate parents and caregivers about the availability of flu vaccines for children 6-24 months and encourage them to schedule appointments with their child’s pediatrician/primary care doctor.
- Engage high-risk populations and adults to protect themselves and others from serious illness by getting a flu shot at a local health fair/community event, pharmacy or from their primary care provider.
- Recommend that anyone 6 months and older get the flu vaccine.
