The California Child and Adolescent Mental Health Access Portal (Cal-MAP) is a CalHOPE pediatric mental health care access program designed to increase timely access to mental health care for youth throughout California’s communities, especially in the state’s most underserved and rural areas. Cal-MAP’s team of psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers provide no-cost consultation, education, and resource navigation to California Primary Care Providers (PCPs) caring for mental and behavioral health concerns in youth 0-25.

  • Cal-MAP now offers e-Consults, another FREE convenient way for pediatric primary care providers to receive Cal-MAP consults and access expert mental and behavioral health guidance—no phone call required.
  • This convenient online option supports both initial and follow-up consultations with Cal-MAP’s child and adolescent psychiatrists and care coordinators. You can ask non-urgent questions 24/7 about:
    • Diagnosis and treatment planning
    • Medication guidance
    • Referral assistance and community resource navigation
  • Simply log into the Cal-MAP portal, submit your question via secure message, and get a response within 24 hours. It’s a time-saving way to make informed clinical decisions – on your schedule.
  • This new asynchronous tool complements our existing real-time phone consultations, giving you even more flexibility in how you access support with Cal-MAP.
