From: HPSJ Medical Management & IT Departments
Subject: UPDATE – HPSJ’s New Electronic Medical Management System
(the Enhanced DRE Provider Portal)
Products: Medi-Cal

Successful implementation happened on Monday, October 2, 2017

Step-by-step instructions have been posted on the HPSJ provider website (hpsj4.wpengine.com/providers/) and within the DRE Provider Portal.

As with any upgrade, we continue to work on identified system issues. HPSJ appreciates the excellent feedback we have received from providers and practitioners now that the enhanced system is live. To keep you in the loop, here is where we currently are with problems you have helped us identify, along with solutions we now have in place.

Problem: In the authorization summary that appears inside the provider portal, the end date of the authorization is not visible.

Solution: We are working with our vendor for a permanent solution. Until then, the authorization beginning and end dates will both be reflected in the notes section at
the bottom of the auth summary labelled “approval period”

Problem: Incorrect or missing FAX numbers on authorization requests
Solution: Please place FAX number in the “Additional Information” section. It is critical that provider offices provide the correct fax number so HPSJ is able to provide timely notification of decisions.

Problem: There is no ability to add modifiers to CPT codes.
Solution: Please add this information in the “Additional Information” section, also at the bottom of Step 2 screen.

Again, step-by-step instructions have been posted on the HPSJ provider website (hpsj4.wpengine.com/providers/) and within the DRE Provider Portal. We will update these instructions as often as needed.

As always, please continue to contact your HPSJ Provider Services Department at (209) 942-6340 for any questions, comments or concerns.
