Business: TPA

Effective March 1, 2017

As a courtesy, we want to make you aware that effective March 1, 2017, SJHA (San Joaquin Health Administrators) will no longer provide TPA (Third Party Administrator) services for the San Joaquin County Health Plan.

With changes in the health care landscape, SJHA made the difficult decision not to respond to the County of San Joaquin’s Request for Proposal (RFP) to continue serving as the Third Party Administrator. SJHA assumed this role nearly 18 years ago at the request of the County to assist in further developing its self-funded health plan for county employees, including a core relationship with San Joaquin General Hospital (SJGH) and its clinics.

The new TPA chosen by San Joaquin County is POMCO.

  • It is our understanding that POMCO will be contacting providers regarding new contracting arrangements.
  • If you have not yet heard from POMCO, please contact them directly.
  • If you have any questions, please call POMCO Customer Service at 1-844-344-8413.

For additional questions about this notice, please contact SHJA Customer Service at 1-209-942- 6340. If members have questions regarding their benefits with POMCO, please direct them to the County of San Joaquin’s Benefits Department. We thank you for your commitment and service to SHJA participants. WWW.SJHA.COM
