Improved payment experience for Providers

Health Plan of San Joaquin (HPSJ) will continue with the existing provider payments system.

HPSJ strives to offer the best business systems solutions at the highest standards for each healthcare provider in our network.

At this time, we have decided to remain with our current and reliable payment partner, Change Healthcare.

There is no action that you need to take!

  • Your payments will continue with Change Healthcare.
  • Timely payments will continue using your preferred method.
  • Access to the secure provider portal will continue without interruption.

If you have any questions, please contact your Provider Services Representative at 209-942-6340.

Thank you for your partnership and all that you do to serve HPSJ members.

We think you will be pleased with the new payment system coming this winter. Our improved Payment Portal will be available to ALL Providers, with these advantages –

  2. Search using common fields like a check number, member-ID, date,
  3. More choices for how you want to receive payment.
  4. Streamlined process to receive electronic payment directly to your bank account – if that is what you prefer.
  5. Support whenever you want it, 24/7!

Please bookmark this page as we will be updating it regularly to keep you informed of this exciting change.

Timeline (Approximate):

  • Fall: – Links for Providers to sign-up on the Pay Contact Form – then receive information to make for a smooth transition
  • Winter:  – New, improved system underway

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the new company that will be issuing payments?
HPSJ is partnering with ProviderPay (Also known at REPAY or Ventanex). If you are not already registered with ProviderPay, you will receive an invitation via email to register closer to the transition date. The Payment Portal is: https://providerpay.secureconduit.net/
Provider Payment by Repay
I am already registered with the new company – do I need to do anything?
Yes. Many of our providers are already registered with ProviderPay but, in most cases, changes to the profile must be made by the provider. This is usually due to either or both of the following issues:

  1. Today, HPSJ pays you via direct deposit into your bank account (EFT/ACH), but your current preference on ProviderPay will result in a paper check.
  2. Today, HPSJ sends you electronic reconciliation data (835 EDI), but your current preference on ProviderPay does not have this option enabled.

To resolve either of these issues, please login to the ProviderPay Portal providerpay.secureconduit.net and make the necessary changes. As always, you can call our Provider Services Team if you have questions.

I have already submitted my contact information. Why haven’t I received the email with the secure portal registration link?
Thank you for providing the requested contact information. The email containing the secure portal registration link is being delayed, meanwhile, we will continue with the current payment system. We will send another email to you when the secure portal registration is sent from www.ventanex.com. We remain committed to delivering an improved payment solution that brings many benefits to our valued providers.
Why is HPSJ making this change?

We are making this change to:

  • Improve provider experience
  • Improve our operational processes and efficiency
HPSJ pays directly into my bank account today (EFT). What happens if I don’t register on the new portal?
It is very important that you register on the new portal otherwise, you will receive a paper check after the switchover date.
HPSJ pays me via paper check today. What happens if I don’t register on the new portal?
You will continue to receive paper checks but with a summary Remittance Advice (RA). You will also be missing out on many benefits such as online access to all of your payment information (stored for at least 10 years), easy search and lookup, downloads in PDF or Excel format at any time.
I receive RA and capitation report data via EDI (835) today. Will this continue?
Yes, but you will need to register on the new portal and choose EFT payment and choose your clearing house so that you will continue to receive this information.
How do I register on the new portal?
You will receive an email from REPAY/www.ventanex.com with a secure link to register.
Why is HPSJ switching to summary paper RA and capitation reports?
Based on feedback from many providers, an electronic version of these documents is more useful. The documents will be safely stored and available for immediate viewing and download for at least 10 years. In addition, reducing unnecessary paper is good for the environment.
How can I switch back to the full paper RA?
HPSJ would prefer that Providers use the Portal which will make payment information including Full RAs and Full Capitation Reports available for at least 10 years (view online or download).  In the unlikely event that a Provider still needs to receive the full paper documents, this option can be selected after registering on the Portal.
Will HPSJ offer payment via virtual credit card?
HPSJ will NOT provide virtual credit card because the credit card company will charge a transaction fee to you. Direct Deposit to your bank account (EFT) is a better option because it is fast, secure and free. It is easy to choose this option after you register on the portal.
Will this affect how I submit claims to HPSJ?
No, claim submission will NOT be changing.
