What can you expect from Value Based Program (VBP) training?

  • Learn how to earn supplemental payments for meeting specific measures aimed at improving care in these focused areas:
    • Behavioral Health Integration
    • Chronic Disease Management
    • Prenatal/Post-Partum Care
    • Early Childhood Prevention

VBP

  • Deepen your understanding of HPSJ’s responsibility to (administer payments) for DHCS VBP program for our contracted network providers through the claims payment process.
  • Get your practice prepared to focus on specific quality areas and increase your earning potential.

By attending our next Value Based Payment training, you and your team will be ready to:

  1. Assess how you have been coding VBP relevant claims and identify areas for improvement.
  2. Work with your billing department to determine VBP relevant claims.
  3. Identify patients related to visits dating back to 7/1/19 who had applicable diagnosis for the at-risk add-on enhanced supplemental payment.
  4. Submit corrected claims for the at-risk add-on enhanced supplemental payments.
  5. Update your coding practice. For example, ensure that any applicable claims for VBP “unhealthy alcohol screening” measure has a modifier 59 submitted in the same claim line as the office visit procedure code.

DISCLOSURE VBP PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
Though DHCS has released VBP program funding, they have not released final program guidance. Therefore, training information and program continuance are subject to change at the sole discretion of DHCS.
