Developmental Disabilities and Valley Mountain Regional Center

The Valley Mountain Regional Center provides services to support people, both adults and children with developmental disabilities (special needs) in San Joaquin & Stanislaus Counties. Free diagnosis and assessment services are available to any person suspected of having a developmental disability, such as intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, or autism.

To qualify for ongoing support and services, a person must be found to have a developmental disability which began before the age of 18 and is a substantial handicap. If your child or you have a developmental delay and needs an assessment (testing) or services please work with your doctor to refer you to the regional center. The services are free. The health plan of San Joaquin Case management and social work team can also assist you in getting services and other needs you or your child may have.

If there are any developmental disabilities or special needs found by your provider, they can refer you to the Regional Center for services.  You can self- refer or call HPSJ to help you. VMRC phone # is 209-473-0951.
