In accordance with the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) regulations, Health Plan is implementing an update to enhance the care coordination for our members when they are seen at Emergency Departments in and outside our service areas.
As a result, Health Plan has provided written referral procedures to Emergency Departments to be distributed to our members when they seek the emergency department for non-emergency services.
This Provider Alert serves as a request for your emergency departments to print, post and distribute the Emergency Department Practices on the pages below which include instructions for members on how to access follow-up care. In addition, a Language Assistance form and a Nondiscrimination Notice have been included for print, posting and distribution.
