A message from Lizeth Granados, CEO, regarding recent Federal changes that will affect the Medi-Cal program (2025 Budget Reconciliation Bill):
Since 1996, we have been dedicated to advancing the health of our region by coordinating access to quality healthcare services and supporting the providers who care for our most vulnerable populations. Today, we provide comprehensive healthcare coverage to over 400,000 Medi-Cal beneficiaries across San Joaquin, Stanislaus, El Dorado, and Alpine Counties.
Recent federal legislation includes reductions in funding to the Medi-Cal program, which provides essential coverage to more than one in three individuals in our region. While the full scope of these cuts is still emerging, thousands of local Medi-Cal beneficiaries may lose their healthcare coverage. These reductions also pose serious challenges to the financial stability of community health clinics, rural hospitals, and other safety-net providers. Many of these organizations already operate with limited resources. Further funding constraints could jeopardize their ability to continue delivering care.
In these uncertain times, we know how access to healthcare impacts the lives of our members, their families, and the communities we serve. That is why we are working to support local healthcare infrastructure and strengthening our partnerships with providers to protect coverage and ensuring uninterrupted access to care. We are also thinking beyond the immediate crisis. We are working to build a more sustainable and resilient healthcare system to support the well-being of our communities. Now, more than ever, we are focused on building a healthier future – together.
