HEDIS: New Reporting for 2022
Description: Members 50-75 years of age as of December 31 of the measurement year who had appropriate screening for cancer.
ADDED:
- New Data Elements Table for Race and Ethnicity Reporting.
- Clarified- Members in hospice or using hospice services anytime during the measurement year are a required exclusion.
Medical Record Documentation
- Must include a note indicating the date when the colorectal cancer screening was performed.
For pathology:
- A pathology report that indicates the type of screening.
- Evidence that the scope advanced beyond the splenic flexure or scope advanced into the sigmoid colon.
There are two types of FOBT tests: guaiac(gFOBT) and immunochemical (FIT) For (gFOBT):
- If medical record indicates that a (gFOBT) was done-NOTE -fewer than three samples returned does not meet the screening criteria.
Exclusions (optional): Either of the following anytime during the member’s history through December 31 of the measurement year. Medical record must include a note indicating one of the following.
- Colorectal cancer
- Total colectomy
