Allergies to AsthmaWe feed much of America. With a third of all food grown near us, we live with plants or blossoms most seasons. This can lead to allergies year-round; for many of us spring and fall are Allergy Time!

It’s vital to keep in mind that allergies also can be the asthma trigger that makes health worse, maybe for you or someone you love.

Here are tips to help skip seasonal allergies:

  1. Keep windows closed during the day
  2. Check pollen counts
  3. Take a shower, wash your hair, and change your clothes after being outside
  4. Don’t wear shoes in the house—your shoes can bring pollen into your home

Talk to your doctor about how to take meds to help control your asthma before signs get worse. Always have an asthma action plan. Take steps to skip other causes in your home like mold, dust and mites, or pet allergens. You can download an asthma action plan through the American Lung Association website.
