Health Plan of San Joaquin offers the Healthy Families Program (HFP). Healthy Families is a low cost
insurance plan for children and teens. With Healthy Families Program, our members receive health, dental
and vision coverage. Healthy Families is available for families who do not qualify for no-cost Medi-Cal.
Many working families in San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Merced Counties are eligible
for Healthy Families.
Eligibility is based on your family size and income. You will be amazed how much you can earn and
still qualify! As a Health Plan of San Joaquin member you have access to quality medical care and most
area hospitals. Some of the benefits of choosing Health Plan of San Joaquin are:
- Your choice of many pediatricians and other local providers
- Unlimited visits with your personal doctor
- Most area pharmacies accept HPSJ
- 24-hour emergency care for a $5 or $15 co-pay, unless the child has to stay in the hospital
- Free 24-hour Advice Nurse – 7 days a week
- Language Assistance (Interpreters, translated materials)
- Immunizations and well-child visits and check-ups
- No deductibles

What does it Cost?
If you live in San Joaquin, Stanislaus or Merced County the Healthy Families Program rates are from $4 - $24 a month per child. Premium rates vary by county, family size and income.
