Health Plan of San Joaquin offers an Advice Nurse Program called HealthReach.
Contact the HealthReach Advice Nurse at 1-800-655-8294 to get more information
about any minor health problems you or your family members may have. You don't
have to go anywhere, check out any books, or make any appointments -- it's all
done through your phone!
With HealthReach you can speak directly to HPSJ's Advice Nurse. You can call the
Advice Nurse when your doctor is unavailable. The Advice Nurse is
available to answer your questions 7 days a week, 24-hours a day! It’s easy!
Tell the Advice Nurse about your health problem. The Advice Nurse can help you
decide if you need to see your doctor, or if your situation needs urgent-care
or emergency treatment. You can also find out ways to possibly treat your
problem at home.
In an emergency, you should always call 9-1-1, or go to the nearest hospital.
CONVENIENT AUDIO LIBRARY ON HUNDREDS OF TOPICS
The Audio Library contains recorded information on a vast array of acute and chronic ailments ranging from sore throats to high blood pressure and hay fever to acne. Like the Advice Nurse, the Audio Library is available to HPSJ members free of charge.
The Audio Library has recently been enhanced to add a broader range of topics. There is now information on more than 900 health topics that, in addition to offering information about specific health conditions, provides general information on health-related subjects such as nutrition and exercise. One of the new features is a separate library for topics designed to address the unique needs of children, such as toilet training and teething.
For a full list of Audio Library topics, click on the link below. The Audio Library is also available 24/7, and you can request a copy of the topic response to be faxed to you.
